I've just emailed the Third Issue to all subscribers. If you haven't got it then you can download it from the Archives page but if you didn't get it and you are a subscriber then please let me know and I'll try to investigate where the glitch occurred.

We have  an especially warm ( or should that be hot?) welcome  for our latest subscriber - Richard Bashall. Richard now gives us a presence in a new part of the world - Oman. We now have subscribers from no less than fifteen countries and what started out as a small attempt to engage Classic BMW riders in the U.K. is rapidly spreading to become a means of uniting like-minded riders from around the world. ...

I started The Airhead to be a focal point for Classic BMW Owners, particularly in the U.K. The lack of interest shown in the Classic bikes by the BMW Club in recent years and the antagonism aimed by an element of their leadership towards those who wanted to strengthen the Classic element persuaded me that there needed to be another, complementary and non-competitive vintage-orientated body towards whom classic riders might turn. I believed that whilst ...

Members from two new countries have just subscribed in the past couple of days. These are the first (of many, I hope) subscribers from Scandinavia. I want to give a warm welcome to Edvard Mortensen from Denmark, who has subscribed through the submission of an article ( exciting stuff - can't wait to read it!) and to Esko Syvanen from Finland. Esko has subscribed through donation but I really hope that he can bring himself ...

As The Airhead is on a roll and people are being generous with their contributions I can't see any reason why we can't increase the number of issues to 6 a year. Provisional dates for the release of issues are:

September 1
November 1
January 1
March 1

Hi Peter very interested to read your letter in my VMCC journal.
At last , a home for all us Boxer 'nuts'.
I will be subscribing to The Airhead. I prefer to pay by cheque , so will progress joining via that route.
Also particularly pleased to see funds support one of my chosen Charities
( locally we support the Dorset&Wilts air ambulance ) but regardless of area they all provide a super service .
Best wishes for great success in your endeavours ,
Kind Regards

Thanks for those kind words, Robin. No problem at all with paying by cheque - lots of people do, but it will be quicker for me to put you on the system if you could fill in your details on the 'Subscribe' page as soon as possible. That way you'll be able to get your latest issue sent to you and you'll be able to access the Archives immediately the cheque arrives.

Unless you object I'll duplicate this post onto the Guestbook page - it might help future subscribers.

Best wishes,
Peter

innovaeditor/assets/Brit txt flyer A4 sml.jpg
Following requests from subscribers I have now added a new members-only page to the website. The 'Publicity Material' page is just that - it contains a growing selection of flyers, posters etc which can be downloaded and printed off to help advertise The Airhead and gain new members. You will need your username and password to access this.
I'd also love for subscribers to design their own flyers and send them to me for adding to ...

One of our subscribers has requested that we set up a Subscribers' Bikes page on the website. Sounds great to me - it would be good if we could see what we're all riding and we never tire of looking at other Airheads, do we?

I'm happy to set this up if it's what people want. Let me know your thoughts.

Part of the joy and interest in older bikes is to be able to look at good photos of them. There are no two similar bikes so all photos are of ineptest - let's see many members bikes here!

Agree with Mike's comment. I enjoy looking at other bikes and would be pleased to add my own to a subscribers bikes section.

Thanks to these and other requests I've received by email I'm happy to say that a new Subscribers' Bikes Page has now been added and should be active soon.

Ever since I first had the idea of starting 'The Airhead' I've always been aware that the odds were against it being successful. There's nothing quite like it on the market; Airheads tend to be owned by a more elderly generation who are not used to computer magazines ( a third of all BMW Club Vintage and Classic Register members don't have email), are arguably less likely to adopt new ideas and media. The problem ...

The website admin problems we had when we first started The Airhead seem to have re-emerged. The sudden increase in subscribers over the last few days seems to have blown its digital mind and strange things have been happening. Subscribers passwords have been lost, gobbledygook ones put in their place and pdf's have not been sent. Just to complicate matters this has all been happening at random and many people have not been affected at ...

Right, this is where I've got to put my hand up and admit I ballsed up on the second issue, just released.

I send the ezine out in batches of about 50 at a time. Those of you who received the first two batches will see there is a typo (for 1992 read 1995) on the banner heading and also the wrong issue number. I have absolutely no idea how this happened but it was corrected ...
