Apologies for being so remiss as to not keep this up to date recently. Holidays followed by masses of catching up to do resulted in the website being overlooked.
Subscribers to the Airhead know how we seem to be taking off at the moment. Success breeds success and our numbers now are far higher than I ever dreamt when I started this project back in May. It seems now that people who were reluctant to subscribe when we first started have now heard from their friends that we are indeed as good as , or better than, they had hoped and so are joining the fold. Long may it continue!
Our latest issue, published on the first of November, has been a great success and I've had masses of feedback from subscribers saying that its the best yet - and far better than anything they can read elsewhere in the U.K. Twenty packed pages of news, views, technical information and tips about air-cooled BMW's simply can't be found elsewhere. Our January issue looks even fuller and I currently have fifteen articles in my folder awaiting selection for the following issue. thanks to all who have contributed - there's some fantastic stuff awaiting publication.
As we grow so we are able to attract other quality suppliers to go with us. Motorworks are being extremely helpful in their support for us, sending our flyers out with all their orders and 'pushing' us on Facebook. Bob Porecha has been a supporter from the outset and he has kindly offered all our subscribers a 10% discount on his stock items. Similarly Mortons, the publishers of most of the classic bike mags in the u.k. are currently in discussion with us as to how they can help. It looks like they will be able to offer us much more publicity and even discounts on their excellent magazines. Our subscribers will ge given the offer of a first refusal whenever the company is looking for bikes to review.
We are also in negotiation with Insurance companies to see whether we can come to a mutually satisfactory arrangement, with discounts for our subscribers. No details yet but things are looking hopeful. I'll post more news as soon as things are finalised.
As we grow we can start to think of other ways in which we can meet the needs of our subscribers. Currently we are investigating the feasibility of an End to End run to raise money for the Air Ambulance and also a group participation in the Colombres Rally as a purely social occasion. Things are on the move!
