I can't go myself because I'm taking Frank Cachia to another event but this looks like a good do if you've got any free time.

There was overwhelming support for a major event next year. All we need now is a venue.

The venue I had lined up for the 2018 Event is going to be too expensive unless I spend a huge sum in advance to reserve rooms. So I'm forced to look elsewhere and I'd welcome any suggestions.

We need reasonably priced accomodation with camping facilities nearby PLUS a large hall or several rooms to accommodate ...

Looks Like THE EVENT is on!
Thanks to all of you who have replied to my request for feedback about the proposed vintage event. Eight hours after sending the request and I've had 165 positive replies so far.
I've also had Hans Muth email me to say he'd be prepared to come across and give a talk. Fantastic, if it all comes together.
So... great news but all a bit daunting.Time to firm ...

Sadly, the time has come to part with my R100S. I have not been riding it and it would be better with someone who used it.
I have a 1977 R100S and Squire ST2 for sale.
27,000 miles. Good condition.
Owned by me for 34 years.
Stainless exhaust, air shocks and fork brace.
Stored for most of last 20 years only ridden to MOT and back.
Sidecar purchased new in 1983.
The only problems I am aware of are, that the carburation ...

Sadly the time has come for me to sell my beloved BMW R 80 . Although she is nearly 30 yrs old  the condition can only be described as almost ex-factory. Never ridden in rain or on a dusty road with mileage at 4k only ,  she appears to have just left the showroom ! My good friend and all things BMW Christopher Hawkings suggested I advertise the bike thro our ...

Sounds very interesting I like the fact that you have owned it so long. I have still got the second bike I ever owned which I bought 43 years ago. It's not a BMW it's a BSA. I suspect your bike is out of my price range but do you know what your looking for

Hi William,
You're unlikely to get a reply here - your best bet is to contact the seller directly on the number he's provided.
Cheers,

Ahh that's a good idea I will call Robin later. I am rebuilding a 1983 R100RS but have limited skills. I could really do with contact details of someone friendly and experienced who I call just talk to for bits of advice. Goo example is I have removed the driveshaft with my home made special tool. Very difficult no would prefer to borrow a special tool when I need to put it all back together. The driveshaft looks ok but the universal joint is not Absolutely Smooth when I move it up down and left right. It seems to want to "park" itself in a central neutral position. I am used to a universal joint on a tractor PTO haft for instance which is very very smooth and doesn't park in a centre position. So the question is is my driveshaft ok or is it very worn. It doesn't look worn but I need an experienced view

The motley crew of David Tinkler (Krauser MKM), Jon Maisey ( R80G/S), myself ( on Peter Simms R90s), Mervyn Slade (R100RS) and Colin Manning (R100R) awaiting the opening of the Bath and West Show on Feb 4.

The show was a great success for us with (currently) 21 new members signed up and several more expected to follow shortly. As our first indoor show it was a big learning curve for us but the spirit of ...

I was at the show as a Honda CX/GL club stand representative and wondered round the show and happened upon the Airheads stand. You guys ay not know it but there is am affinity between the two mark. Many CX/GL riders also own BMW's ( R's and K's) I guess for obvious reasons. Anyway, having just re-bought an R80RT myself, I got chatting to Dave and signed up 24 hrs later. Well done chaps.

Pulse-Jet Ignition for your Airhead.

Never heard of it? It's new - developed by BMWAF member and super-engineer Steve Scriminger, this promise to increase engine output by 10% and delivers it right in the middle of the rev range where we need it most. What's more it does this without any increase in fuel consumption!

Steve's developed the system over many years and gives an account of it in the ...

Have a look at these, produced by electrical wizard and BMWAF member Kathryn Connell. Cool or what? Click on the picture to link through to her website.
